As you can see here a very large piece flaked off when I went over it with the pressure washer. The paint only seemed to be held on by corrosion.

The entire driver side under the hood peeled off. The hood was closed when I washed this, but it wasn’t like that last time I opened the hood. My theory is that because this is the primarily south facing side of the truck when parked, is that many freeze thaw cycle over the years caused the paint to bubble up and then peel when the pressure washer sprayed it through gap between the hood and fender.

It's a great color! Where are you washing this? It seems like some sort of indoor self serve car wash?

Wash World in Saskatoon, it’s a 24 bay indoor wand wash.

Every time you post your Ranger it makes me miss my old one.

I googled the VIN and found out it had been wrecked in Florida.

It’s always sad to hear when your old car gets wrecked.

I don’t believe I’ve ever seen anything like that before. All the self serves in Georgia I’ve seen are outdoor with a roof. It also doesn’t get far below freezing and road salt isn’t used, so there is less demand for this sort of thing. Are these common ?

It was actually -2*C(28*F) when I washed tonight. Indoor wand wash is the most popular type around here with the second type being automatic touchless car washes (both drive-in and conveyor belt) we don’t have any outdoor car washes here. All the car washes shutdown at -25*C(- 13*F).

Vista Blue is such a pretty color. My last Ranger was this color.

That is a bummer. Ford really knows how to blue though.
